Screen Description
The Ticket Entry screen is designed for a smooth, structured workflow. Each section captures a different piece of the excavation request:
- Caller Information – Who is making the request (company/homeowner, phone, email, type).
- Location Information – Where the work will occur (county, place, street, subdivision, cross streets).
- Locate Information – Narrative description of the exact work area.
- Mapping Tools – Interactive GIS functions to grid the work area, search parcels, or apply buffers.
- Contact Information – On-site contact and subcontractor details.
- Begin Time – Work date, legal notice date, expiration, and update by deadlines.
- Remarks – Additional information for members (e.g., hazards, gate codes).
- In-House Comments – Notes visible only to NC811 staff (e.g., mapping discrepancies).
- Member Information – Facility owners that will be notified; includes add/view options.
Context: The layout enforces accuracy. Skipping or misusing sections can lead to missed notifications, which is both a safety risk and a legal violation.
